My Journey
From the flatlands of Central Michigan to the majestic mountains of North Lake Tahoe, Nevada, my journey has been a tale of exploration and discovery. A seeker of knowledge, I indulge in a multitude of hobbies and am pursuing a path of lifelong learning.
Music has always been a dear friend to me, spending time singing and playing guitar in various choirs and musical groups.
Yoga, a practice I stumbled upon at the age of 12, became a source of profound connection between my physical and emotional well being.
It has been a journey of self-discovery, and I’ve had the privilege of intensely studying with Authentic Movements and have attained my 500-hour teaching certificate in July 2023.
This has fueled my passion for guiding people in exploring their own bodies, minds and movements; exploring what we think we are capable of and continually meeting that edge; exploring when it’s okay to say “that’s enough” and doing less.
Astrology, the ancient art of reading the stars, has been a source of fascination for me since I was a small child. The prospect of unraveling the mysteries of the universe through its celestial map has been a theme throughout my life.
As I delve deeper into its intricacies, I realize that there is always more to learn, and it is a lifelong journey. With each new thing learned comes another thing to learn.
I began my formal study of traditional astrology with Kepler College
in Fall 2023, completed my Advanced Fundamentals of Natal Astrology certificate in Spring 2024, taken several courses in Counseling, Transits, Progressions and Solar Arcs. Kepler’s esteemed instructors have inspired me to continue this ancient study and bring the practice to communities less familiar with the craft.
I began sewing as a kid with my grandmother. I remember sitting with her for hours as she pieced together intricate quilt patterns, having an eye for detail, but also being able to pivot when
something didn’t go quite as planned.
What she taught me, and the way that my mind processes 3D concepts, led me to begin altering clothes so that they would fit me in a more flattering and functional way.
Changing hemlines quickly turned to altering wedding dresses and then drafting patterns and creating from scratch. While I enjoy this craft, my focus now is on exploring what we can learn about our bodies and minds through the art of yoga and astrology.
